Chagall, Lissitzky, Malevich: Promos
“After the Russian Revolution, an unlikely city became the center for artistic experimentation that would change the course of art history forever.”
Jonathan conceptualized and directed these two spots to promote the Jewish Museum’s latest exhibition featuring 160 artworks by avant-garde masters Marc Chagall, El Lissitzky, and Kazimir Malevich. The show told the story of the intense rivalry that developed as these artists sought to push their own visions for the future of art in tense post-revolutionary years. Director Jonathan Sanden sought to highlight that story and tension as much as possible in these two short promos.
"Chagall, Lissitzky, Malevich: The Russian Avant-Garde in Vitebsk 1918-1922" is on view now through January 6, 2019. For more information about the exhibition, click here.
